ABOUT JULIE WRAY | OLIVINE ATELIER
Perfumer. Ritualist. Beauty Rebel.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to beauty, scent, and the magic found in small bottles. At eight years old, I was spending my allowance on soaps, lotions, and perfumes. At eighteen, I worked in a perfume blending bar—until I was fired for creating my own blends. That was my first big clue: I wasn’t here to follow someone else’s formula.
By twenty-four, I opened my first boutique, Aromatica. Later came Olivine Atelier, a dream space of clothing, lingerie, and beauty that MSNBC named one of the Top 10 Boutiques in the Country, alongside Prada and Issey Miyake. Two stores and three product lines later, I’m still creating perfumes, flower essences, and remedies...because I love it.
My roots are in 1990s Seattle’s grunge era, and that edge lives in everything I do. I’m the perfumer who doesn’t follow blending rules. The business owner who builds her own path. My work is about resonance over rules, intuition over convention.
I believe in everyday magic - the kind we create with every word, every adornment, every ritual. Beauty, for me, is that heart-bursting moment when you realize your life is magic because of who you are, not how you look.
When women come to Olivine, I want them to feel seen, inspired, and beautiful. Through scent, remedy, and ritual, I create tools for healing, sensuality, and self-love. I’m also in my second year of homeopathy school, expanding the ways I can support transformation from the inside out.
If one drop of perfume makes you stand taller, smile softer, or walk with a little more sway…my work is complete.
Love,
Julie
